You must have registered for your Project Management Professional (PMP) examination with the Project Management Institute (PMI) and received your Authorization to Test (ATT) letter prior to scheduling your testing appointment at a Prometric Testing Center.
Some candidates have asked me this question: how to find vacant slots for PMP exam? Is there a way to just browse and see how busy the calendar is? Can I get a feel without using my PMI Eligibility ID?
The answer is Yes. You can check/ find the vacant slots available in your preferred test location, even before submitting an application to PMI.
I have listed a step-by-step procedure below, with screenshots for easy understanding.
Step 1. Please visit the PMI-Project Management Institute organization page at Prometric web site.
Step 2. You will find four options on top of the page (Schedule My Test, Locate a Test Center, Reschedule/ Cancel My Test and Confirm My Test). Click on “Locate a Test Center”.
Step 3. In the next page, you need to select your country (and the state, if applicable). Once you have selected your choice, click on the Next button.
Step 4. Now, you need to select the exam for which you want to appear. The drop-down box lists all the certifications offered by PMI. If you are appearing for PMP Certification Exam, please select the option “PMP – Project Management Professional” and click the Next button.
Step 5. You will be taken to a Test Center Selection page. Here, you can search for the test center nearer to your location. Please enter your location in the search box and click on “Search”.
Step 6. The page will display all the nearby test centers with approximate distance and a map showing the locations. You will also see a link against each test center called “Availability”. Select the test center of your choice and click the “Availability” link displayed against it.
Step 7. It will open an Availability calendar. Please select the month from the drop down box and click the GO button.
Step 8. The calendar will update and shows you the dates when slots are available for the exam. If slots are available, the date will appear in blue color with an underline. If slots are not available, the date will be greyed out.
Step 9. Now, click on a date. It will show you the time slots available for that particular date.
That’s it. Hope that helps you.
Have you ever thought of looking at the vacant slots available in your city for the PMP exam? If yes, this is how to check for the PMP exam slots available without your PMI Eligibility ID. Hope, you find this information helpful.

I think this is not possible to find unless you pay the fee, then only you can see the available exam slots.
If there is no exam slot available we have to suffer after paying the fee, there is no transparency.
I had conversation with PMI support they are also asking to pay fees first
The link you have provided in step 1 is access denied and it is not providing the options
Hi, this is an old article. This article was written when PMI was using Prometric as their test conducting agency. Since last year, they have moved from Prometric to Pearson Vue. So, the link and procedure could be different now.
